  Observation. Licensing observed the following: * liquid hand soap and single-use hand towels (paper towel) available at hand sinks * bleach / water solution available in spray bottles for disinfecting surfaces * soap / water solution available in spray bottles for cleaning surfaces * fridge thermometer was not functioning - Licensee had recently purchased another for replacement * bi-fold doors have locking mechanisms on them * the safety cover for the knob on the gas stove top is broken - it is accessible to children * blind cord was loose and accessible to children

  Equipment, furniture and supplies are located so as not to block or hamper exits in the case of fire or other emergency. [CCLR Sec. 15(1)(b)]

  Observation. Licensing observed a dishwasher and oven located in the hallway which leads to the exit door of the home. The Licensee informed that they are new appliances and had hoped to have them installed yesterday however issues presented themselves and this did not occur. The Licensee has communicated that they will be installed on September 23 2023.

  Observation. The Licensee does not have a current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children in her care.

  Observation. Bleach / water spray bottles are made weekly. No thermometer was observed in place for the fridge. Bi-fold doors are without a locking mechanism. Oven is accessible to children and without the ability to lock it from children's access. Knobs on the stove are accessible to children. Soap / water spray bottles are available for use when cleaning surfaces prior to disinfecting. Liquid hand soap and single-use hand towels are available at each sink. Children's bedding is laundered weekly. Window restrictors are in place. Patio door was observed locked.

  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. Small toys pieces are accessible in a child's bedroom.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. The Licensee's mother has been living in the home due to being unable to travel as a result of the pandemic. A criminal record check clearance is required.
