  There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

  Observation. Drinking water available in the emergency preparedness supplies expired in 2025. Food supplies expired in 2016 and 2025, respectively.

  There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56(1)(f)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the last entry in the book used to document minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events was January 31 2023. As discussed with the Licensee, it is important to document any times when first aid is applied to a child or when they have experienced a minor injury. Licensing advises that the time / date of when a parent is notified of a child's injury is also documented.

  The Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - is implemented and met. [DOLSOP September 2017 and Section 4(1)(e)of the CCALA]

  Observation. LO observed that an Active Play Policy and Screen Use Policy are not in place.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that the seam on one of the nap mats was torn and the internal material was exposed. The nap mat appears to be in poor repair and no longer easy to clean.

  A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. LO reviewed all children's records and observed that a medical insurance plan number has not been obtained for one child.

• STAFFING / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

  Fire drills are not practiced at least once each month. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed that fire drills were only practiced for the month of February and May. Discussion took place with licensee who was advised that fire drills are to be practiced at least once each month to meet compliance.
