  Observation. Licensing observed the care plans had not been reviewed at least once a year and a child's medication had expired.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  A record for each child containing the date of enrolment in the facility is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(b)]; A record for each child containing the date on which the child stops attending the facility is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(k)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the registration form has been updated, the date of enrollment and the date which the child stops attending is not kept, which assists with ensuring the child's complete records are kept. Licensing also noted a child's file the required a medical practitioner's contact information.

• STAFFING / Additional Criminal Record ChecksNon-critical

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec. 20]

  Observation. Licensing observed a staff person's CRC was completed through the police. The employee is to complete a CRC through the Criminal Records Review Board as noted in the legislation.

  At all times children have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, is knowledgeable respecting each child's medical condition, if any, and is capable of communicating with emergency personnel. [CCLR Sec. 23(1)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that there was one educator who their first aid had expired, which is a risk if the individual is on their own with a child who requires first aid treatment.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the care plan and information was missing to support the child in care.

  There is current log of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H. [CCLR Sec. 56 (1)(f)]

  Observation. Licensing discussed with the manager the importance of a current log for the day to day incidents, illnesses and unexpected events to be documented.

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the new computer system documentation used for the program and found there to be missing information required by Licensing to support the program and caring for children.

  The medications are not readily accessible to employees. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)(b)]

  Observation. LO observed staff on the outdoor playground. A child with an allergy had an expired EpiPen in their backpack.

  Observation. LO observed 2 children's files whose records indicated food sensitivities, however further information regarding reactions was not made aware to staff

  Observation. LO observed that a fire drill was not recorded for the month of February
