    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: 1) The rubber edge around the handwash basin in the bathroom was loose and taped on with packing tape, which cannot be properly cleaned and sanitized. 2) Two bifold closet doors were missing the protective clip at the top to prevent children from pinching their fingers.

    Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

    Observation. Licensing observed that the art area had multiple materials easily accessible to children that posed a choking hazard such as googly eyes, marbles, small shells, small pompom balls. For the category of care Under 36 months, infants could be enrolled, who might put such small items in their mouth. Therefore, all choking hazard must be out of children's reach. A discussion was held with the staff to reorganize the art area.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: 1) The metal entrance gate to the facility was not properly closed upon entering. The gate was not functioning properly and needed to be lifted up or pushed very hard to lock in place. The screws that secured the gate hinges to the stone post were loose on one side causing the gate to sag. 2) The sand in the sandbox was very low and requires topping off.

    Emergency exits and fire drill system are approved by a local Fire Marshal. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(a)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher did not have a service tag. The manufacturers date at the bottom was 2023.

    Observation. One child's care plan indicated that their Epi Pen expired January 2026. Staff stated that the child only comes for extended hours and brings the Epi Pen back and forth between home and childcare.

    Observation. Licensing observed a children's chair in the main play area. The fabric of the chair was ripped making it difficult to sanitize adequality. This item is not in good repair. Licensing observed a lock on a Bi-fold closet located near the children's nap room. The lock appeared to be broken. This poses a risk of finger pinching as the closet is accessible to children.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following items were not secured: - A wooden kitchen set. - A basketball stand with a hoop and soccer net. These items are over 3 feet tall and pose a risk of injury if tipped over.

    Observation. Licensing observed one missing outlet protector located in the nap room located beside the washroom. Licensing observed large items stored up high on the built in storage unit in the main activity space and in a windowsill in the eating/activity space. These items were not secured and pose a risk of injury.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed that artificial turf has been installed and is in good condition. Licensing observed that the front gate has been replaced and is good condition. Licensing observed boards in the perimeter fence have become loose and have fallen down. Children's toys and large cement slabs are being used to block off the open area in the fence. This poses as a hazard as the area is not secure. Licensing observed that half the play space was blocked off and inaccessible. Licensing was informed that the yard was blocked off to remove bamboo that was deemed hazardous. It appeared that the bamboo has been removed but the space was still blocked off. Licensing observed a children's play house in the outdoor play space. Sections of the plastic in the entry way to the play house are broken and appeared sharp. This poses as a hazard.

A plastic play house had been moved into the gate space to prevent children leaving the yard. The grass in the outdoor play area was observed to be worn away leaving exposed dirt.
