  Emergency exits and fire drill system are approved by a local Fire Marshal. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the fire extinguishers are overdue for annual servicing. (Due for servicing by May 12 2023)

• RECORDS AND REPORTING / Care PlansNon-critical

  The licensee does not keep a current care plan for each child requiring extra support. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)]

  Observation. LO observed the following with regards to care plans: -2 child sized back packs containing asthma medication were hung beside the facility emergency bag in the outdoor play space however the back packs did not have care plans to accompany the medication for the 2 children -asthma care plan for 1 child is not current. The care plan listed an expired asthma medication for the child. -care plan for a child with a life threatening allergy who requires an epi-pen to be administered is not current. The care plan listed an expired epi-pen. Discussion took place with program manager with regards to updating care plans when new medications are brought into the facility and that a copy of the care plan be stored with the child's medication.

  Absent or ceased employees are replaced with appropriately qualified employees. [CCLR Sec. 37(1)-(3) and Sec. 38]

  Observation. During the inspection, LO observed that the facility manager listed on the licence was not onsite and an Acting manager has been appointed during the interim. Discussion took place with Acting manager who shared that the manager on the licence has been promoted and working at another facility. LO asked when the changes in manager occurred as Licensing did not receive any notification of the changes. Acting manager shared that a new manager has been hired and will be starting effectively April 18th.
