- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. -A chemical cleaner was observed on the floor under the toilet -Diaper cream was accessible to children -Plastic bags were accessible to children -The garage door was open this is located directly beside the outdoor play area. Various cords and a weed trimmer were observed in the garage at the children's level -A rusty table was located in the outdoor play area -An open garbage bag was located on the ground -Cars and ride on toys were parked on a raised surface. This could present a hazard if cars are driven off the ledge of the raised surface
Corrective action. In discussion the Manager said she will create a fence and remove the table and garbage bag.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation. One exit was blocked with toys and one exit was partially blocked with equipment and a ladder
Corrective action. The Manager moved the toys away from the exit during the inspection
11090 - CCLR s.15(1)(b) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Single use towels were not being used in the washroom
Corrective action. In discussion the Manager said she uses toilet paper to dry the children's hands. Toilet paper should not be used. Please use another material for drying hands.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. -The Managers name was not posted in the facility
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. One staff certificate was not posted in the facility

13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Two certificate validations were not observed in staff records

12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for two employees.
