    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Adult medication located on a child's shelf accessible to children

    Corrective action. Staff removed the medication and put it away in their bag.

  • LICENSING

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

    Observation. Certificate of one employee was not posted

    Corrective action. Staff said they will print off and post the certificate of the staff and keep a copy of all of the casual staff on a ring by the other certificates in case there is a casual working in the program for the day.

    A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

    Observation. A care plan was not developed for a child with a severe allergy.

    Corrective action. Staff said they will complete a care plan for the child and post it along with the child's medication.

    A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

    Observation. 1 child's file is missing medical consent.

    Corrective action. staff said they will connect with the families to ensure the files are up to date and complete.

    Observation. Immunization record was not obtained for one employee.

    Corrective action. Staff said they will complete the immunization form and share it with the centre.

    Observation. References of an employee were not obtained.

    Corrective action. Staff said they submitted the references to the manager, however, the documentation was not available on site for review. Staff said she will make copies of her documentation and keep a copy on site.
