  • LICENSING

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

    Observation. Two staff that work at the facility did not have their certificates posted.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that any staff that have certificates issued by the ECE Registry are posted in the facility.

    Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

    Observation. There is an ECE Staff that opens the facility each morning and is alone with the children for about an hour until an Infant/Toddler staff arrives.

    Corrective action. Please ensure there is an Infant Toddler certified staff working at all times in this program.

    Observation. Two staff who recently obtained their Infant and Toddler licence to practise, did not have those certificates verified on the ECE Registry website. Their previous ECE licence to practise certificates had been verified.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all current certificates are verified on the ECE Registry website.
