  A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

  Observation. Fire drills are not conducted monthly for each class.

  Corrective action. Manager explained they will be conducting fire drills with each class and documenting them.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one staff.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all staff have record of immunization

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. There are a variety of sanitizing and disinfecting methods used in the facility. Some are not being used as per manufacturer's instructions and bleach and water solution is not being mixed with correct measurements and not being made often enough.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that any commercial products used in the facility are used as per the manufacturer's instructions. Please ensure that bleach and water solution is mixed with accurate measurements and made more often than once a week.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. In the facility there are two School Age rooms. At the time of the inspection, there was only one sign in sheet that documented arrival and departure of all the school age children. The attendance taken appears to show that all children only attend one room which is not accurate.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that attendance is taken to show which room the children attend.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. It appears that a child who attends may require a medication due to their diagnosis. There is no written care plan in place.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there is a detailed care plan in place for this child.
