    Observation. -Drain cleaner in a hanging caddy above the children's diaper change station. -A bottle of febreeze in an unlocked cupboard under the sink, accessible to children. -Thumb tacks being used in children's play spaces, in areas which may be accessible to children - posing a choking hazard.

    Corrective action. The Manager removed the items and made them inaccessible.

    Observation. The following items were observed at the time of the inspection; - two latches were broken for closets were hazardous items are stored - a high chair is stored in a playroom were children play - resilient surfacing under a slide not in place - the floor transition strip at the washroom door is damaged - storage of nap time blankets not effective and no sheets available - ineffective storage of nap time mats - a door leading to the home open at the time of the inspection - bathroom sink counter has damaged caulking around the sink area All of the noted items were reviewed in depth with the Licensee.

    Corrective action. Ensure and healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    Observation. Upon arrival, Licensing observed that a three years old child was seated in the toddler feeding chair with a toy. The staff said that the child require extra support and she put him in the chair to manage his behavior. No care plan was found for this child.

    Corrective action. Ensure that no child is restraint for the convenience of staff.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a foldable gymnastics mat, in one of the play rooms, that is ripped in many areas exposing the foam underlay. Licensing provided education that with the foam underlay exposed it is difficult to ensure proper sanitization. The Manager removed the mat from the play room.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

    Observation. Once entering the facility the Manager spoke with Licensing and then left the children unattended for several minutes.. During the time the Manager had left the children unattended a child had hurt another child in care and the hurt child started to cry. Upon discussion with the Manager Licensing was informed that the Manager had gone upstairs to their personal residence. Licensing provided education on the importance of ensuring that children are supervised at all times by the staff working

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.

    Observation. Upon a review of 12 days of the attendance records, for the months of August and September. Licensing observed 6 days that children were not signed out. Licensing provided education on ensuring that children time's of arrival and departure are indicated on in the sign in/out sheets daily. This is a repeat contravention.
