A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed an uncovered trash can in the children's washroom which contained soiled diapers and gloves.
Corrective action. Ensure soiled items are inaccessible to children at all times.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 2 staff files and noted that one file did not contain a site specific CRC.
Corrective action. Ensure a site specific CRC is obtained for all employees before the start of employment.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following health and safety hazards were observed at today's inspection. -A book self taller that 4 feet is not stable on floor. It needs to be secured (identified during initial inspection) -Black toy shelf has sharp corners that need to be secured -Electric cords on the floor accessible to children in nap room -Nap room curtains are tied with light string that is very long and touching the floor. It is accessible to children and posing a high risk of tying in around children's bodies.
Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided to all children while in care

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Review of 3 children files observed that one child was missing name and phone number of his parent , doctor and emergency contact.
