  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The following were observed during inspection. -Cement area and under the seating bench has dirt. -Area under the stairs has debris of food, food wrapper, broken toys and dirt -Outdoor toys has mold and dirt

  Observation. Review of the attendance records indicated 3 separate days where 1 child was not signed out.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the attendance records indicate a departure time.

  Observation. Facility is using an infant bassinet for a three years old to child to sleep.

  Corrective action. Ensure that furniture is appropriate for size and age of the children in care.

  Observation. The following hazardous items were accessible to children during inspection; diaper rash cream and grooming products in a washroom drawer; cleaning spray under the kitchen sink.

  Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times when children are in attendance.

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. Upon arrival licensing observed children were eating. Then they left the table to join the music teacher. However they left their unfinished food with open container on the table. None of the children wash their hands before using the music instruments.

  Corrective action. Please establish a program to instruct children in and to practice rule of health and hygiene.

  Observation. Attendance records were incomplete on several occasions. There were 6 children in attendance today and only 3 were signed in. On April 6 none of the children were signed out.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 children files. The manager was unable to locate one child's records or emergency contact information. The child was enrolled in November 2021.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children files are complete and can be retrieved within a reasonable time in case of emergency.

  Observation. Manager was unable to locate fire drill records for year 2021 for licensing to review.

  Corrective action. Ensure fire drill records are kept and available for Licensing to review at the time of inspection.

  Observation. There were 5 children in care at the time of today's inspection. However, none of the children were signed in. Manager said that she takes attendance and signs in all children during circle time. Licensing discussed the safety concern and the importance of recording sign in/out time immediately upon arrival and departure.

  Corrective action. Ensure daily attendance records are completed indicating arrival and departure time.
