A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. Facility is using cloth towels to dry hands for children for hand washing procedure. Towels were hung closely and touching.All towels were too wet to dry hands. There were no systems to for children to identify their towel.

Corrective action. Licensee will provide written response to address health and hygiene concern.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. The following items were accessible to children; Air fresher was observed on the washroom counter. Beach bottle was on top of cubbies.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Blind cords on the windows if main play room and reading room were not secured.

Corrective action. Please ensure to provide a safe and healthy environment to children while in care.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Review of 3 children files observed one child was missing medical insurance plan on file.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Review of 3 children files observed that 2 children were missing name and/or phone number for their medical practitioner.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children files are complete

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

Observation. Review of 3 children files observed that one child was missing parent's consent to call ambulance in case of emergency.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children files are complete

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
