A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. The fire extinguisher has not been serviced within the last year.

Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced annually.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

Observation. - An accessible heating vent in the naproom is loose and can be taken off the wall easily. -A slat is missing in the outdoor fence. The missing slat is creating an entrapment hazard. The other side of the fence connects to the neighbor's yard which has a drop. The missing slat is causing the drop into the neighbor's yard accessible.

Corrective action. Manager said that slat came off during the recent snow storms and that a request to the landlord for repair has been made.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. December drill was conducted but not recorded.

Corrective action. The Licensee says that their practice is to record drills, however, did not do so in December.

A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

Observation. Licensing observed that one child in care did not have a children's information file.

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.
