    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. -Several tables throughout the program had visible marks and signs of dirt. -A table's leg was broken. -Duct tape covering a crevice was pulling exposing the crevice.

    Corrective action. Discussed having system for cleaning and disinfecting place.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Blind cords were dangling low and accessible to children in care.

    Corrective action. Discussed the intent of ensuring blind cords are secure.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the fabric chairs on the out of school care room were visibly stained.

    Corrective action. Ensure all furniture, equipment and fixtures within a community care facility are clean and in good repair.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed: -There is a very large bulletin board propped against the wall which posing a tipping hazard. -There is an established system to secure blind cords, however, at the time of inspection, the system had not been engaged. -There is a system to anchor shelving to the wall, however, in of the classrooms the system was not engaged for one tall shelf. -A runner is taped down in the hallway - the edges of the taped runner are puckering, causing a tripping hazard. -Temperature sensitive food was observed without ice packs or other mechanism to keep food at safe temperature.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
