  Observation. A written record of the emergency evacuation was not maintained

  Corrective action. Ensure that you have a written record of emergency drill and fire drills.

  A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. The Licensee first aid is expired.

  Corrective action. Ensure that there is an employee with valid first aid and CPR that meet the requirements in schedule C

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Disinfectant cleaning wipes were accessible to children in the bathrooms. The Licensee took action and made them inaccessible during the inspection.

  A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

  Observation. Family Child Care - Maximum group size of 7 was exceeded. Upon arrival, Licensing observed 8 children. Licensee sent one child downstairs with an individual who is living downstairs.

  Corrective action. Please immediately reduce the maximum capacity to 7 children.

• STAFFING

  The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

  Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is living on the premise is not available.

  Corrective action. Ensure to obtain a criminal records clearance for any individual over the age of 12 and is ordinarily present on the premise.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. DLSOP Safe Play Space – Equipment has been installed over concrete. Minor injury log identified bruises due to children fall in the outdoor play area. The outdoor play yard has all over concrete ground surfacing which is not suitable for children younger that 18 months old.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided to children in care at all time.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed that emergency supplies for children to evacuate and recover from emergency need to be restored. Licensee said that the supplies were stolen from outside.

  Corrective action. Ensure that all the necessary supplies are readily available on site as part of emergency plan that sets out the procedure to respond and recover from any emergency.
