  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Three pieces of climbing equipment were placed on the concrete portion of the outdoor play space. Discussed the requirement of resilient surfacing. The staff moved the slide, cube and climber on to the grass.

  Corrective action. Ensure requirements for resilient as per DOLSOP Safe Play Space are met at all times.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the sand box is full of leaves, weed growing from parts and infestation of ants. This is a repeated contravention. The paint is chipping in the main play room.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that facility is clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

  Observation. Water temperature was measured 54.3 degree Celsius in the washroom accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Ensure that heated water accessible to children must be no more that 40 degree Celsius.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following at today's inspection; - Sandbox covered with weed, leaves and dirt -Outdoor toys has dirt, grime and lot of ants climbing on it. Outdoor toys need a power wash.

  Corrective action. Ensure that facility is clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed three broken ride on toys in the outdoor play area; a fire truck, bike paddle and a scooter. Outdoor toys need to be washed to remove dirt and grime.Licensing discussed with the staff to inspect the toys and play yard for any hazards

  Corrective action. Ensure that furniture, toys and equipment are clean and in good repair while children are in care.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. One staff criminal records clearance copy was not site specific.
