- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed, in the outdoor wood chips play area, a tall umbrella with a concrete bottom that is not secured to the ground. Potential for it to fall on a child and injure them.
Corrective action. The Licensee will remove the umbrella from the outdoor play area.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a Lysol wipes container on the shelf and accessible to children in care.
Corrective action. The Licensee moved the wipes to an area that is out of children's reach.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. Licensing observed several balls in the outdoor play area that are deflated. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of August 2025, Licensing observed the following; - one day children not signed in - three days children not identified as absent. This is a repeat. Licensing discussed the intent of accurate attendance.
Corrective action. The Licensee will ensure that attendance records are accurate on a daily basis.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that the date of birth on the child's records was incorrect.
Corrective action. The Licensee obtained the child's birth certificate with the correct date of birth.
19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Upon a random review of three children's records, Licensing observed that the doctor's information was not obtained for one child. This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Licensing observed that one staff's criminal record check has not been obtained. Licensing provided education on sharing form.

Observation. An unqualified individual provides care to the children twice a week while the qualified staff goes to pick up the other children from school.
Corrective action. Ensure that staff to employee ratio is maintained at all times.

A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. Upon discussion with the Licensee, Licensing observed that there is an individual who picks up children from school however, the individual does not have any evidence that they hold a valid first aid. Therefore, Licensing was unable to confirm if the individual has a valid first aid.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing by the Licensee on how this contravention will be addressed.

Observation. Some areas where cleaning and/or maintenance are required: -Change table areas where there is visible dust and debris, requires a good cleaning. -Areas on the wall where the paint has started to chip (Washroom, near seating area).
Corrective action. Please ensure facility is clean and in good repair.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. There was no record to indicate that the emergency drill had been carried out in 2021 (repeat). Licensee had advised that it had been carried out but not documented.
Corrective action. Please ensure record of fire and emergency drills are documented in order to confirm compliance.

A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation. At the time of inspection, LO was unable to review two children's file as one child's records had not yet submitted to the Licensee and one child's file could not be located.
Corrective action. Please ensure children's files are obtained prior to providing care and are in stored in an area that is easily accessible.
