    Observation. Licensing observed the following in the kitchen that is accessible to children in care; - an unlocked cupboard with chemical cleaning products in it - two big knives on the counter - several adult scissors in an unlocked drawer.

    Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. During inspection, Licensing observed the fridge temperature at 5.9 degrees Celsius.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the fridge temperature is no more than 4 degrees Celsius.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection, Licensing noted that the following items were accessible to children: -A bottle of bleach in an unlocked cupboard under the sink in the children's bathroom. -A bottle of air freshener in an unlocked cupboard under the sink in the children's bathroom. -Cleaning supplies in the laundry room used. The door to the laundry room was open during inspection and the cleaning supplies were on the ground.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to any objects or substance that may be hazardous to their health and safety.

    A licensee must ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that two epi pens and an additional medication was stored in a back pack on the bottom shelf of children's cubbies.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child.

    Observation. Licensee stated that food is provided to children if children need their snack or lunch supplemented. Licensee does not have a system in place to inform parents of supplementary food and drink provided to children.

    Corrective action. Ensure information about food and drink given to children is made available to parents.
