A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.

Observation. The water at the washroom sink measured at 55 Degrees Celsius.

Corrective action. Licensee stated that they would purchase a hot water regulator for the sink in the washroom. In the meantime, children will be supervised when washing their hands.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The following items were observed: -Cleaning wipes were stored under sink, accessible to children in care. (Corrected at the time of inspection). -Two large nails were sticking out of the fence, which could be hazardous if the children were to run into them.

Corrective action. -Wipes were moved to a higher location, inaccessible to the children in care. -Licensee stated that the nails will be removed from the fence by March 20, 2025

A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.

Observation. First aid kit is available on site, however, there only appeared to be a variety of band aids within the kit. Discussion had with staff and Licensee about providing a kit with a variety of supplies, allowing for staff to carry out proper first aid tasks, if needed.

Corrective action. While on site, Licensee ordered a larger first aid kit which is due to arrive by March 14, 2025
