    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Fridge temperature at 7.4 degrees Celsius.

    Corrective action. Manager will obtain thermometer for fridge to ensure it stays at appropriate temperature.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. In the outdoor area, the wooden frame around the playground was separating at some places.

    Corrective action. Manager will have the frame repaired.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed eight child files, one child was missing MSP number, one child was missing doctor's information and two we missing emergency contacts.

    Corrective action. Manager will obtain missing information.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following was observed in the Preschool/School Age room: -several fluorescent tube lights are not working creating a dark environment -one light fixture does not have a cover, exposing a fluorescent tube light

    Corrective action. Manager explained she has contacted the church already to request the lights to be replaced.

    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

    Observation. The following was observed in the Preschool/School Age room: -a tall brown shelf holding books and other items does not appear stable -a TV sitting on a high shelf is not stable

    Corrective action. The Manager explained she will secure the shelf to the wall and secure the TV to the high shelf to ensure there is no tipping hazards.

    Observation. A total of 10 staff files were reviewed and 4 staff were either missing a criminal record check(CRC), had an expired CRC, or had a CRC from another organization.

    Corrective action. The Manager explained she will ensure all staff have a valid CRC on file.
