Observation. In one classroom, Licensing Officer observed a stack of miscellaneous items stored behind the double sided art easel. The items were not secured and pose a potential risk of falling, which could result in injury to children or staff.

Observation. Licensing Officer observed care plans for two children do not appear to be current. Both care plans list expired Epi pens. Care plans have not been revised to reflect the new medication information. In addition, it appears that care plans for three children have not been reviewed with a parent or guardian at least once per year, as required. Discussed with Manager that annual reviews are necessary to ensure that all care plans remain accurate and reflective of the child’s current needs.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. In the main activity room, LO observed that the walls appear to be soiled, stained and look worn. Many areas of the walls appear to have been drawn on with crayons or markers as well as paint splashes. It appears that the walls are no longer easy to clean and require some maintenance. In addition, LO observed two grey child sized chairs that appear to be soiled and stained with paint. It appears that the two chairs require some attention.
