  Observation. Licensing Officer observed one record in which the parent has indicated themselves as the emergency contact.

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed the following: -medical insurance plan number is not kept for 1 child -immunization status is not kept for 5 children

  Children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult. [CCLR Sec. 39(1)]

  Observation. LO observed staff schedule and noted that the closing staff is ECE Assistant. This appears to be a regular occurrence within the facility and on the schedule. Ratio of 1 ECE to 8 or less children must be maintained at all times.

  Observation. There is information available for all children, with some children having their start date on their file, but many do not have it available.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. 2 staff files were observed to have CRC's that were not obtained by the facility. As per Criminal Records Review Act - CRCs are non-transferable unless both the previous employer and the new employer are part of the sharing program and have applied for a shared CRC with the Branch.

  Children have healthy food and drink in accordance with Canada's Food Guide. [CCLR Sec.48(1)(a)]

  Observation. While parents provide food for children, staff set it out on the tables. It was observed that no ice packs were in some children's lunch bags and cheese and dairy items were on the table for almost 2 hours.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. 6 staff files were reviewed, and one was missing validation of ECE certificate, and one was missing immunization status.

• STAFFING / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

  Staff are trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and the emergency plan, including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(a)]

  Observation. While staff appear to be knowledgeable in and practice the fire drill system, the equipment (fire extinguisher) has not be checked and is past due
