• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. While the facility is clean and in good repair, there are some areas discussed with the manager that could be hazardous or make equipment unable to be cleaned. These include - cleaning wipes and plastic bags accessible to children (corrected during inspection), kitchen was accessible to children (gate to kitchen closed during inspection), storage of baby wipes accessible to children, walls and furniture showing signs of wear / tear and therefore these areas would be difficult to sanitize or clean. There also appears to be additional items / equipment within the play space that should be moved to allow for more useable space for the children.

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. Most children's files are complete. But a few were missing information about medical practitioner and medical insurance number (either care card or travel insurance). information about finding a dr. in BC was shared. It was also discussed that families who visit walk in clinic's can also put the clinic information in this space.
