  Observation. LO observed a child-sized vinyl chair that had a rip on the seat. This is no longer easy to clean and in good repair.

  Observation. LO observed that 1 child in care did not have an emergency consent card on file.

  Observation. LO observed that 2 children in care did not have immunization status on file, and 1 child did not have a PHN/Medical Insurance information on file.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

  Observation. LO did not observe verification of ECE certificates for the manager or the 2nd staff on site

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the fire drill log and noticed the drills were not conducted at least once each month.

  Observation. Licensing observed an unsecured drawer filled with books stacked up on top of a shelf in the playroom, and a container with children's sippy cups touching posing potential hazards.

  Children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult. [CCLR Sec. 39(1)]

  Observation. Licensing officer observed a child sleeping in a stroller outside the glass door entrance to the facility. . The staff was inside the facility while the child was left outside unsupervised.

  Observation. Licensing observed a child sleeping in a stroller in the outdoor area. The stroller was covered with a swaddle blanket and only the feet of the child were visible. Licensing brought up to the Licensee's attention that Environment Canada had issued a special weather statement warning about a heat alert with maximum temperature records in Greater Vancouver including the City of Richmond. Each of these issues pose hazards to the child in care.

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed an unsecured wooden table top reclined against the shed wall in the outdoor space posing a hazard. Licensing observed the stove, kitchen and appliances were accessible to children in care presenting potential hazards.

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed a broken felt tile at the entrance of the facility, visible dust accumulated on the baseboards and window ledges in the main activity room, play room and nap room. In addition Licensing observed light switches, walls, chairs and a couch which appeared to be stained and in need of cleaning.

  Observation. Licensing officer observed two cribs touching, a stained crib mattress stored between a crib and a wall and a second mattress reclined onto a crib posing a hazard.

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed a container with laundry detergent pods next to the nap room within children's reach. Also Licensing observed a spray bottle with bleach in the washroom accessible to children

  Observation. Licensing Officer observed building supplies including cement and a cement cart under a tarp tied with plastic ropes at children's level. In addition Licensing observed wood debris on the grass accessible to children and discoloured push carts, tricycles and toys in poor repair or in need of cleaning throughout the outdoor play area.
