  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. In the children's washroom, LO observed 1 toilet paper dispenser is held together with duct tape.

  Observation. LO reviewed all children's records and observed the following: -a photograph or digital image is not kept for 6 children -date of enrolment is not kept for 1 child -immunization status is not kept for 2 children

  Observation. LO observed that there is no evidence that the licensee has validated ECE certificates for 3 staff.

  Observation. LO reviewed all staff files and the following was observed: -immunization status has not been obtained for 1 staff -record of staff work history has not been obtained for 1 staff

  Ground Surfacing: The depth of loose fill material (protective surfacing) meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the Standard of Practice. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. LOs observed that the depth of the woodchips under the climber did not appear to provide adequate protective surfacing.

  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. LO observed the following: - One child's records stated that they had an allergy requiring an EpiPen; however, an EpiPen was not on site. - One child's records stated that they have an allergy causing itchiness; however, the course of action to take during an allergic reaction is not kept. The manager stated that both children no longer have allergies and their records have not been updated.

  Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

  Observation. LO observed that at 11:30 am children who had finished lunch transitioned to their beds for the nap routine. The manager explained that children including those who do not nap, will remain on their beds until they fall asleep or until 1:00pm. It was discussed that it is not appropriate for children who are not sleeping to be required to stay on their beds for 90 minutes.
