    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. The LO observed that general maintenance, cleaning, and repairs appear to be ongoing throughout the facility. However, some items remain outstanding. Specifically, several pieces of wooden furniture show visible wear to the varnish or surface finishing. As a result, these surfaces are no longer non‑porous and cannot be adequately disinfected.

    Observation. While most emergency card and children's files are complete, LO observed a few that are missing emergency contact, in addition to parents and medical insurance information (care card / travel insurance info. / etc.).

    Observation. There is some equipment that is showing signs of wear and tear, while licensing was informed that there is a plan in place for repair of walls, there should be ongoing plan to monitor and replace / repair all items include - mats, toys and tables that are showing signs of not being able to be easy to clean.

    Observation. There is a BI working on site that was hired by a family. No file has been obtained by the Manager on site, and while they were not hired by the facility, the CCLR defines Employee as - anyone providing care through a contract, a volunteer or someone hired by the Manager.

    Observation. As noted above there is a BI on site, with no staff file on site or reviewed by manager. Therefore you are unable to determine if they have the training / experience with the skills necessary to care for children requiring extra support.
