  Observation. LO observed sleeping mats are stored with bedding touching posing a risk of cross contamination.

  Observation. LO observed some emergency food items were expired. The bin the items were in were wet and appeared dirty.

  Observation. LO observed a staff: - did not have documentation to support their certificate was verified using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry. - did not have record of work history.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed the following during todays visit - areas of paint wear and tear, as well as areas of chipped paint and exposed drywall / wood, the Dryer is fully accessible (latch is broken), bottom drawer in the bathroom vanity is accessible, two of the shelving units are not secured to the wall and there is an area behind the shed in the outdoor space that appears to be used to store wood planks and is accessible to children.

  Observation. While daily attendance is kept (parents sign in and out), there is no time out for most days, and it is not clear if a child was absent on any given day or not signed in.

  All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]

  Observation. While the Licensee and her spouse have valid CRC's (copies attached with this inspection report), their eldest child, who is over the age of 12 and has not applied for their CRC.
