A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. Upon inspection, the managers name was not posted
Corrective action. Please ensure the name of the manager is displayed in a prominent place.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must ensure that children are adequately supervised by qualified employees in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of each child.
Observation. Upon inspection, licensing officer arrived and knocked on the door and a child answered the door. The child was inside unsupervised while the manager and children were outside.
Corrective action. Please ensure children are adequately supervised to meet the needs of each child.
14010 - CCLR s.34(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation. Upon inspection, there was no staff file available for the manager and staff.
Corrective action. Please ensure staff files are available and kept in a single location at the facility.
19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Upon inspection, the manager had renewed her certificate in 2019 and did not have the new certificate validated.
Corrective action. Please ensure certificate is verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. Upon inspection, the criminal record checks for the individuals who live in the home were expired in 2019.
Corrective action. Please ensure a criminal record check for persons over the age of 12 who are ordinarily present were not available.
