Observation. Emergency evacuation drills have not been recorded. The Staff said they have been practiced just not recorded.
Corrective action. The Manager said they will record the evacuation drills at the bottom of the fire drill logs

RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation. No care plan available for 2 children requiring extra support. The Manager said that these were created but could not produce them during the inspection.
Corrective action. Please ensure that a current care plan showing the diagnoses relevant to a child's requirement for extra support is available.

STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Criminal Record Checks from the CRRP were not obtained for all staff. The Manager said that the request has been sent out to the organization and that she is awaiting for the results of the CRC. One staff file had a CRC obtained from the RCMP.
Corrective action. Please ensure that Criminal Records Checks are obtained from the Criminal Records Review Program for all staff.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Evidence of ECE validation was not obtained for all staff. The Manager said that these were completed but the results were not printed out.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all ECE/A certificates are verified by the system maintained by the ECE Registry.
