    Observation. 4 staff files were reviewed and there was no evidence that an educator or assistant certificate has been verified. Licensing reviewed the process with a staff. This is a repeat contravention to Inspection #LPEN-CKKV9A and #KTKK-C6VLYR.

    Observation. Upon inspection, there were 11 children in one program, in a music class and 7 children in another program. Staff said that they divide the groups into over 3 and under 3 for a music class.

    A licensee must (a) ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there were two children sitting in high chairs during a music class.Staff advised licensing that this was due to children moving too much.

    A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.

    Observation. During inspection, licensing observed a staff placing a child in a high chair before the staff assisted another child with the toileting routine in the bathroom. Licensing was concerned that the child in the highchair is not being actively supervised. Manager stated that this has been common practice for the month of September due to not having an extra staff to support the bathroom routine.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children are supervised at all times.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed the following: - A child who was in attendance was not signed in - There are three attendance sheets from the month of September that had multiple children not signed out - The children in all three programs are being signed in on the same sign in sheet. Manager stated that she usually has an extra staff that supports the sign in/out of children. She also advised that in the month of September she uses one sign in sheet while deciding which child is going into which program.

    Corrective action. Please ensure each child has a record showing their daily attendance record, indicating the time of arrival and departure in the program they are attending.

    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

    Observation. Upon inspection, licensing reviewed the minor incident logbook and observed it was used twice since 2019. Staff advised that they rip pages out and use sticky notes that are being thrown out. Manager agreed and also stated that staff use text messages to communicate.

    Corrective action. Please ensure current records are kept that include a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that do not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.
