A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.

Observation. During the inspection, 2 children left one of the classrooms and were in the hallway and in another room on their own without the staff's knowledge.

Corrective action. The Manager is to provide a compliance plan for supervision practices.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. Out of 3 staff files reviewed, one staff was missing record of character references.

Corrective action. The Manager said she will obtain 2 character references.
