The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. Licensing observed the following: In the playroom, nap room and bathroom, all windows are closed resulting in stuffy and low air quality. After a discussion with the Licensee the backdoor to outdoor play area was opened. In the bathroom accessible to children, Licensing observed black mold is present on walls and ceilings. In the bathroom accessible to children, Licensing observed layers of dirt build-up on diaper change mat, toilet, washroom sink, washroom floor and walls. In the kitchen and nap areas, Licensing observed all highchairs and highchairs covers have layers of dirt build-up and multiple expired food pieces present. In the kitchen, there were empty food containers on the floor and no cleaning supplies available. During a conversation with the Licensee, Licensee explained cleaning and laundry are done on the weekends. A conversation occurred with the Licensee about the increased risk of an outbreak with this current practices.

Observation. Licensing observed an unsteady fabric diaper change surface being used for diaper changes. It is not easy to clean between changes and it is a falling hazard. There was no covered container for diapers and soiled clothing within the bathroom.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - the nap room contain a tv, a couch and a daybed. There are no space for children's sleeping cots. - 2 children slept on sleeping cots in the living room while another child slept in an adult bed in the bedroom. Making continuous supervision not possible.
