  • NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES / NutritionNon-critical

Children are not left unsupervised while consuming food or drink. [CCLR Sec. 48(4)(c)]

Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed two instances where children were left alone while having snack. The educator walked out of the 'dining' area and into the main activity space to put away different items and document children's meals. This poses a risk to children's health and safety.

  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / Heated WaterNon-critical

Heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. [CCLR Sec. 47]

Observation. Licensing observed a washbasin next to the diaper change mat that measured at 50 degrees Celsius. Although the Licensee stated that this is not used for children Licensing explained that the purpose of it was to wash children if needed. Due to the plumbing of the bathroom this tap cannot be regulated so Licensing requested a plan to ensure that staff are aware of the water temperature.
