A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The fire drill was not logged for the month of May 2025. The manager said that this was completed with the children. This is a repeat contravention on routine inspection report #MZIN-D8BNMQ on 20-Aug-2024.
Corrective action. Ensure that the fire drill is practiced monthly and recorded.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Eight children were present today, though only half had the time of arrival recorded. This is a repeat contravention on routine inspection report #CGEE-CVNRY9 on 14-Sep-2023.
Corrective action. Ensure that the children's time of arrival are recorded daily.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that for the months of May, June and July 2024, the monthly fire drills were completed (as said by the facility manager) with the children, though not recorded.
Corrective action. This was corrected by the facility manager during the inspection. Ensure that the monthly fire drills are recorded monthly going forward.

Observation. Repeated violation from FIR #CGEE-BRJML3 (14/Jul/2020): A child's medical practitioner's contact information was undocumented.
Corrective action. If a child lacks a family physician, their walk-in clinic's contact information is acceptable. Or a note stating a child has neither, but it is the licensee's responsibility to obtain updated information in the future.

A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 2 climbers w/ slides & 1 climbing equipment in the outdoor play space had < 6' clearance around all sides &/or the end of the slides.
Corrective action. There must be a 6' use zone around equipment to allow for proper use of equipment, w/ adequate space for entering & exiting. Use zones are surfaces around & under equipment that generally extend 6' in all directions. Children shouldn't hide, play, relax, etc, in the use zone.

Observation. A child lacked his medical practitioner's contact information.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation. Children's emergency consent cards aren't always taken during outings.
Corrective action. Please ensure that parental consent to seek medical attention is maintained when children are taken on outings beyond the CCF's property.
