  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): For the program located on the lower level of the facility, Licensing observed that 3 children were not indicated as absent (blank) at the sign in sheet outside. The program also had another attendance record inside, though the same 3 children were also not indicated as absent (blank) on that sheet for today. This item is a repeat contravention on routine inspection report #MZIN-D6UP2H 04/Jul/2024.

  Corrective action. Ensure that absent children are recorded daily.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. The following were observed: - In the program located at the lower level of the facility, some of the sleeping mats with bedsheets were stored and stacked in a way that the bedsheets were touching. - In the outdoor play area, Licensing observed that the black mats on the ground were uneven and lifting in some areas.

  Corrective action. - Ensure that the bedsheets are not touching when stored and not in use. - To ensure safety of children and to avoid children potentially tripping, ensure that this item is addressed (outdoor mats).

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): In the program located at the lower level of the facility, Licensing observed that there were two children marked as absent on the attendance sheet, when the children were in fact present today at the facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure that children's attendance are recorded accurately daily.

• LICENSING

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. 2 employees' certificates were not displayed.

  Corrective action. All employees' certificates must be posted conspicuously.

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. A care plan was last signed on 22/Apr/2021.

  Corrective action. Care plans must be reviewed (for any changes), signed, & dated annually.

  Observation. 14 children's files were checked & 2 lacked their medical practitioner's contact info.

  Corrective action. All requirements of s. 57 must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

  Observation. 14 children's files were checked & 1 lacked an MSP #.
