  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Lysol wipes were under the sink in the bathroom accessible to children.

  Corrective action. The Licensee moved them to an area out of reach of children.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. DLSOP Safe Play Space – There are areas in the backyard with limited ground surfacing and underlay paper sticking out creating a tripping hazard.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there is adequate ground surfacing to cover the paper.

  Observation. Upon inspection, no children were signed in for today and departure times for the day prior were not entered.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there is a record of daily attendance, indicating for each day whether the child is absent, or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Upon inspection, there was no file for the licensees own children who were in attendance in the program.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there are current records for all children who attend the program.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Upon inspection, there were large toys and wooden pieces of equipment stored on top of the fridge that posed a fall hazard if there was an earthquake.

Upon inspection,in the play yard, there were: - 2 large pieces of wood leaning against the support beam accessible to the children that posed a fall hazard if they got knocked over -the shed door was open with tools and a lawn mower accessible to the children -there was a large metal grass cutter that was accessible to the children

  Observation. Upon inspection, August & September's Fire drill had not been recorded.This is a repeat contravention.

  Corrective action. Please ensure facility records are kept current.
