    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection 4 staff files were reviewed and one Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.

    Corrective action. While on site the employee declared on a piece of paper that they were immunized.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the routine inspection it was observed that the water temperature was 58 degrees Celsius. The staff was observed helping children wash their hands and monitoring the use of water. During the routine inspection the hot water was turned off.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the water temperature of water is heated to no more than 49 degrees Celsius.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. During the routine inspection it was observed that some of the food in the emergency supply kit was expired.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that you have enough supplies to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Vacuum cord, and blind cords were stored in the classroom accessible to children in a manner which presents an entanglement hazard.
