  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Diaper change table not secure -Shelf above the change table not secure -Children's bedding not stored separately

  Corrective action. Manager will provide a healthy and safe environment when children are in care.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Hazardous materials accessible to children included thorns, rotting food, paint can, rake, nails and sharp metal on the gate. -Mattress leaning against the facility, posing a fall hazard -One area in the fence poses a head entrapment

  Corrective action. Manager will ensure outdoor checks and maintenance are conducted prior to children in the outdoor space

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Shared towel provided to dry hands -Children's potty had urine not disposed of -Children's potty seat stored on the ground

  Corrective action. Manager will ensure health and hygiene of all children while in care

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Licensing observed that part of the fence in the outdoor play area is very wobbly and needs to be secure.

  Corrective action. The licensee said that she will secure the fence.
