  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Upon inspection there were several loose cords in the nap room that were accessible to children. The licensee said she will not leave the children unsupervised in the nap room.

    Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to loose cords.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Upon inspection, the change pad had duct tape in multiple places to repair rips.

    Corrective action. Ensure the change pad is in good repair so that it is able to be properly sanitized.

    A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

    Observation. Upon inspection 1 child did not have a file. The licensee said it was the child's first day and she has given the parent the registration forms to be returned.

    Corrective action. The licensee will obtain the forms prior to the child coming into care.

    Observation. Upon inspection the date the children stop attending was not noted.

    Corrective action. The licensee said she will update the date the children stopped attending.

    Observation. Upon inspection, a member of the house hold's criminal record check expired in December 2024.

    Corrective action. The licensee advised she will apply for his criminal record check.

    Corrective action. The licensee said she forgot and then were closed at the end of July but will ensure that they are practiced every month.
