A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. A wooden foosball table was leaning against the wall next to a child’s cot, posing a potential risk of falling on the child

Corrective action. The Manager said the foosball table will be removed before the children nap and large items will not be stored in a way that may fall or injure a child

A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. Single use towels were not available to children or staff for hand washing.

Corrective action. The Manager said single use hand towels or paper towels will be used moving forward

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed a furnace with hot pipes located in a closet which was accessible to children.

Corrective action. Licensee stated she will purchase a child lock for the closet door, making it inaccessible to children.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

Observation. Licensing observed that no fire drills had been documented since the facility opened in October. The Licensee confirmed that no fire drills had been performed.

Corrective action. Licensee stated fire drills will be implemented monthly moving forward.
