A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Two toilet cleaners were stored next to the toilet within reach of children

Corrective action. The licensee said they will be stored in a locked cabinet and checked regularly when children are in care

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: - Lysol wipes accessible to children - Metal siding with sharp edges in the outdoor play space accessible to children - Rose bushes with large sharp thorns accessible to children - Outlet cover missing in nap area - Fridge temperature not maintained between 0-4 degrees Celsius

Corrective action. Licensee moved the wipes to be inaccessible and said the following: siding will be moved, thorns will be inaccessible, outlet cover will be replaced, and fridge temperature will be adjusted.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. Licensee said fire drills were practiced for the past 2 months, however they were not recorded.

Corrective action. Licensee said drills will be recorded moving forward.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Name and number of a medical practitioner was not obtained for one or more children.

Corrective action. Licensee said information will be obtained.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Fridge temperature not maintained between 0 and 4 degrees celsius. Licensing observed the fridge had a temperature of 5.5 degrees celsius.

Corrective action. Licensee must ensure that the fridge temperature is below 4 degrees celsius.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Licensing reviewed the emergency kits and they all have expired food.

Corrective action. The licensee said that she will reorder the food/water and replenish the kits.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensing reviewed the attendance and observed the following: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One child was not signed in today - There were 2 days in April where all children were not signed out at the end of the day

Corrective action. Licensee must ensure that children are signed in/out every day.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 children's files; 3 files were missing the immunization status.

Corrective action. The licensee said she will ask parents and put the information in the children's files.
