- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Furniture, equipment, and/or fixtures were in disrepair, including: the edge of the kitchen counter was observed to be peeling and unable to be easily cleaned.
Corrective action. The manager said a plan is in place to replace the counter, and a temporary solution will be provided until it can be replaced.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must record compliance with the care plan of a child requiring extra support in respect of each of the following that are applicable to the child: (d) any behavioural guidance provided to the child, and its effect.
Observation. Behavioural guidance provided to a child with a care plan was not recorded.
Corrective action. Manager said compliance with the care plan will be recorded moving forward.

Observation. the following areas in the facility are in poor repair and in need of replacement or repair,the bolt on the air conditioning unit need to be flush with the apparatus, the artificial turf is a tripping hazard in areas needs to be secured

Observation. the following areas are in need of repair or replacement, the wooden edges is need of repair, the pony wall in the 3-5 room is in need of repair,the carpet in the toddler room is in need of replacement , manager has already order one, the gate is in need of cleaning and reinforcement. the kitchen counter is in need or replacement or repair

Observation. Licensing noted there was no record of a fire drill being completed for one month in 2022, the Manager said it was not practiced.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: - Food debris on the outside of the oven, and in the burners on the stove - A toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom was broken and in need of repair, and there appeared to be urine on multiple toilet basin rims and on one toilet seat. The toilets were cleaned while licensing was on site.
Corrective action. Ensure the furniture, equipment, and fixtured within it are clean and in good repair.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. Licensing noted the name of the Manager was not displayed in the facility.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 9 children’s files and noted 1 did not contain consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance.
Corrective action. Ensure consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance is obtained in writing for each child.
