    Observation. Adequate supervision has not been in place on multiple occasions when one staff member was present and required to prepare snacks and lunch for children during care hours. While the staff member could see the children from the kitchen during this time, close and active supervision was not possible. This does not meet requirements to ensure health and safety of children. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before October 17, 2025.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. There was no record of the last emergency plan drill and staff could not recall when it was last practiced. It is important for safety that all employees practice implementing the emergency plan each year and that it is recorded. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before October 23, 2025 The current manager did not have the following documents on file for review; criminal record check, resume, references, training certificates and immunization information. Two staff members did not have evidence of certificate validation through the BC ECE Registry on file. This is important to ensure certificates are verified. Two staff members did not have immunization information on file. This information is required for all staff. Submit a compliance plan to address this issue on or before October 23, 2025.

    Observation. Child files were missing the following information; 1 was missing care card number, 1 was missing immunization status, 1 was missing medical practitioner phone number.     Observation. The employee/manager does not have a valid criminal record check. All employees must have a valid, cleared criminal record check in order to work with children. Submit a plan regarding how the facility will address this issue. ECE certificate not verified by the BC ECE Registry online validation system. Provide verification when this has been completed.

    Observation. No system in place to log daily outdoor play space inspections and maintenance. Create a system to log these activities and provide confirmation. Several child files were missing the following items: start dates, photograph or up to date photograph, medical practitioner contact information, consent for emergency care. All of the items listed in Section 57 of the CCLR are required for each child. Please review all child files and ensure they are complete and provide confirmation.

    Observation. The manager of the facility does not have a valid criminal record check through the Criminal Records Review Program. A safety plan is in place until the appropriate clearance has been received.

    Observation. Air fresheners located in the bathroom were accessible to children. A container of disinfecting wipes was located on a window sill, at a level accessible to children. These issues were corrected during inspection.
