    Observation. Cleaners were accessible to children while in a cupboard with a child lock on it. The child lock did not prevent the cupboard from opening

    Corrective action. Ensure that children do not have access to cleaners.

    Observation. The outdoor area that was approved has been removed. there is no outdoor play area for the children on site.

    Observation. Not enough food for the amount of children in care to respond to an emergency. A number of the food items in the emergency kit were expired.

    Corrective action. Ensure that you can respond and recover from an emergency.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager: - Various cleaning supplies were stored under the kitchen sink; unlocked and accessible to the children - An air freshener placed on the washroom's counter was accessible to the children - Blind long cords were accessible to the children. LO discussed about keeping all cords out of the reach of children, specially the cords by the napping equipment. There must be a cleat or tie down device up high on the wall and use it to keep cords out of reach.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

    Corrective action. Please ensured that all children's files are complete.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. It was observed that a child was standing on a bench on the outdoor deck next to the railing. There is concern that the child could lean over and fall from the balcony. A gate a the top of the stairs has the latch accessible to children. At the time of the inspection a child opened the gate.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the bench is not located next to the railing where a child can stand on it and the gate is secured so that a child can not open it.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): It was observed that Lysol and bleach solution were stored in a cupboard in the washroom accessible to children.

    Corrective action. The Manager moved the Lysol and bleach to be inaccessible during the inspection.

    A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The water temperatures in the bathrooms accessible to children were 54 degrees and 55 degrees Celsius. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Ensure the water temperature is no more than 49 degrees Celsius. The Manager turned off the hot water to both sinks during the inspection.

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The facility Licence was not displayed in a prominent place in the facility.

    Corrective action. The Manager took the Licence out of a drawer and placed in a prominent place on the desk during the inspection.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1 employee had a criminal record addressed to another facility. A discussion was had that the criminal record check needs to be addressed to the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure that each person employed has a criminal record check addressed to the facility. During the inspection the Manager was able to contact another person and have a picture of a criminal record check addressed to the facility sent to her phone. It was discussed to ensure this information is with the employees information.
