    Observation. Classroom doors have locks on both inside and outside making it challenging to access the space in an emergency. The outside gate to leave the playground is locked and unable to be opened by the staff outside.

    Corrective action. Ensure all emergency exits are not blocked

    Observation. There is no Infant toddler educator scheduled in the Infant toddler program from 7am until 8:30am and from 5:15-6pm. The second staff in the infant toddler program is an early childhood educator assistant.

    Corrective action. Provide a staffing plan for all programs that meets schedule E. Ensure that staff are in ratio according to schedule E

    Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.

    Observation. Upon Licensing arrival there were at least 4-5 children who are under the age of 36 months in the Group child care 30 m- school age program. The children were removed from this facility and moved to a different facility at 8:45am\ There are 4 children under the age of 36 months registered in the bumblebees 2 program.

    Corrective action. Ensure children are grouped as per Schedule E with no more than 2 children under 36 months in the group child care 30m- school age program.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. Children's attendance records are not accurate with the children in the correct program or facility. The facility uses an app between more than one facility and signs children into the facility they are registered and not the one they are attending.

    Corrective action. Ensure that children attendance is for the facility and it includes time of arrival and departure from the program.

    Observation. Staff did not follow the facility’s withdrawal policy when they did not give 2 weeks' notice to the family or meet with them to discuss concerns.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan is required to ensure that staff are aware of and follow policies.
