A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the following hazards: - lysol wipes stored in a drawer accessible to children - a suspended unsecured baby monitor cord behind a curtain, next to a crib which poses a potential risk of entanglement

Corrective action. The manager removed the lysol wipes and the unsecured cord from children's access during the inspection.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The door for the secondary egress route 'sticks'; which hampers egress. The licensee explained that this is due to 'settling' of the newly constructed building. The same door has a section of missing trim which has caused a large area of exposed drywall which is porous and cannot be adequately cleaned.

Corrective action. The licensee will repair the door to ensure that it does not hamper egress, the door trim will also be replaced to cover the drywall.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. A staff explained that although fire drills have been practiced monthly; a record has not been kept.

Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that a record of fire drills will be maintained.

A licensee must do all of the following: (d) appoint a manager for the community care facility.

Observation. A manager has not been appointed by the licensee since June 2024. A manager has been hired; however, documentation has not been provided to Licensing.

Corrective action. The Licensee will provide documentation regarding replacing the previous manager.
