    Corrective action. The Licensee updated the record of fire drills during the inspection.

    Observation. Licensing observed a heavy unsecured shelf with a heavy unsecured printer on top; above the height of children, which could pose a risk in the event of an earthquake.

    Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that she will secure both the shelf and the printer.

    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.

    Observation. Licensing discussed the use of screen time in the program. There was no screen time policy available, the Manager will be developing a new screen time policy to reflect current practice. She recently purchased a new television and is incorporating some screen time into programming.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all required policies are available and shared with families as required.

    A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drill had not been practiced since February 2020. Manager stated that this has been the last thing to mind during the pandemic.

    Corrective action. Please ensure safety procedures are still followed as required in Section 22 and record compliance. Please ensure a fire drill is conducted this month.
