  Observation. The diaper mat in one of the care programs was observed to have multiple tears. Ensure the facility, furniture, equipment and fixtures are clean and in good repair.

  Observation. Radon gas testing has not been completed and remains an outstanding contravention from the previous inspection. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to their health or safety.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. The employee records were reviewed, and some were found to be incomplete. Some records were missing their character references and immunization status. Ensure that required employee records are obtained such as criminal record check clearance, character reference checks, record of work history, evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs, copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's and training and skill, and Early Childhood Educator certificate validation prior staff start of employment. The volunteer's record was found to be missing the character references and immunization status. Ensure to obtain required records for a person who acts as a volunteer such as a criminal record check clearance, character references in respect of the person and evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed children records and found some incomplete. Some records were missing information on medical insurance and medical practitioner. Ensure to keep current records for each child identifying information. Some children's records were missing their photographs. Ensure to keep a photo or digital image of each child and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

  Observation. The Licensee is not validating Early Childhood Educator's certificate to practice.

  Observation. An Early Childhood Educator's certificate to practice was expired.

  Observation. Radon results have not been provided for this facility.

  Observation. The employee file contained an expired criminal record check. The current and valid criminal record check was printed and added to the file during the inspection. The emergency plans have not been practiced in the last 12 months.

  Observation. Child registration records were reviewed and some were missing required information such as medical insurance number, and immunization status. The Licensee is not recording child absences.

  Observation. Children's drink bottles are not being washed and sanitized daily. The hot water was tested and found to be 58 degrees Celsius.

  Observation. A sharp knife was found in a drawer accessible to children. Ensure this is made child safe.

  Observation. A criminal record check (CRC) for one staff could not be found during the inspection. Provide evidence of this CRC.

  Observation. Records for outdoor yard checks are not kept. Ensure a record of these checks are documented.

  Observation. Some child records were incomplete. Please ensure all children's records are complete prior to child attending the daycare.

  Observation. Broken pool noodles and a cracked flower pot were found on the play yard. Ensure any broken items are removed when you do your playground checks as they can present hazards.
