• C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

  Observation. Licensing observed that the educator left the children with another staff to collect items for the outdoor play activity. The staff who remained with the children does not have an early childhood education qualification. Ensure children are adequately supervised by qualified employees in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of each child.

• C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

  Observation. The Licensee Contact stated that they are the facility manager; however, the information appears to differ from what was received during the application process. The Licensee must immediately provide notification of any change to information provided in the application. Licensing observed that the manager's name was not displayed. Ensure to display the name of the manager in a prominent place.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the fire drill records and found them incomplete. Ensure that the fire drill system is implemented at least once each month. There was no record of emergency plan being implemented. Ensure to keep current records indicating that each employee practices implementing the emergency plan at least once a year.

• C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

  Observation. Licensing reviewed the staff records and found them incomplete. The early childhood educator certificate must be verified by the Licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. The staff stated that they do not have of log of minor accidents. Ensure to keep a current log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events. Licensing reviewed some of the children's records and found them incomplete. Ensure to keep a daily attendance record indicating the time of arrival and departure of children. Ensure to keep current records for each child identifying personal information such as medical insurance number, start and end date. The Licensee Contact stated that they do not have a written consent from parents to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. A Licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached, and to release a child to someone other than the parent. Licensing requested for the staff records at the time of inspection. The Licensee Contact obtained these information from their Human Resource Department through electronic mail. Ensure to keep facility records, child records, and care plans in a single location at the facility. Licensing reviewed the log of play inspections and found them incomplete. Ensure to keep a current log of play inspections, maintenance and repairs.

• C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

  Observation. Some hazardous items were found underneath the toilet sink. Ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to their health and safety.
